Serverless Modernisation
Stop patching servers. Start shipping features.
Every server you run comes with a never-ending to-do list: OS patches, security updates, disk space, certificates, capacity planning and the 2am reboot that did not come back. For many teams this maintenance quietly consumes a large share of engineering time, and it never gets finished.
Serverless services such as AWS Lambda, AWS Fargate, Azure Functions and Azure Container Apps hand the operating system, scaling and availability to the cloud provider. You pay for what you use, scale to zero when idle, and your team focuses on the application instead of the machines underneath it.
KLYVOX starts with an initial consultation and a structured assessment of what you run today, then delivers a detailed modernisation plan: which workloads to move, how, in what order, what it will cost and what your team will stop having to do.

- Patch nights and maintenance windows are a regular fixture in the calendar
- Servers run at a few percent CPU most of the day but are sized for the peak
- Only one or two people know how a critical server is configured
- Operating system or runtime versions are approaching end of support
- Scaling up for busy periods means manual work or over-provisioning all year
- Security audits keep flagging unpatched or outdated hosts
How we work
Step 1
Initial consultation
A conversation about your applications, team, constraints and goals, to agree what the assessment should cover. No commitment.
Step 2
Assess
Inventory of servers and applications, their dependencies, traffic patterns and maintenance burden, and a serverless-readiness score for each workload.
Step 3
Plan
A detailed modernisation plan: target architecture per workload, migration approach, phased roadmap, risks and a cost comparison of today versus serverless.
Step 4
Deliver (optional)
Hands-on help implementing the plan with your team, built in Terraform, starting with a low-risk pilot workload to prove the approach.
What you get
- Server and application inventory with maintenance burden
- Serverless-readiness assessment for each workload
- Target architecture on AWS or Azure (Lambda, Fargate, Functions, Container Apps)
- Cost comparison: current hosting versus serverless
- Phased roadmap with quick wins, risks and dependencies
- Recommended pilot workload and success criteria
Frequently asked questions
Does serverless really remove patching?
It removes operating system and server patching: the cloud provider maintains the underlying machines. You still own your application code and its dependencies, and you upgrade language runtimes when they reach end of support, which is far less work than looking after servers.
Is every application suitable for serverless?
No, and the assessment says so honestly. Long-running, stateful or highly specialised workloads may be better on containers or managed services. The plan recommends the right target for each workload rather than forcing everything into functions.
Is serverless cheaper?
Often, especially for workloads that are idle much of the time, because you stop paying for unused capacity. For steady, high-volume workloads it can cost more, so every plan includes a cost comparison before you commit.
Do we have to use you to implement the plan?
No. The plan is written so your own team or another partner can deliver it. Many clients ask us to help with the first pilot and then continue in-house.
